More on the Move...

We were approved for our apartment with only a months worth of rent as the deposit. Hutch and I are both young adults with little to no credit so that was to be expected. I am glad it is not more. :)

Since getting the approval phone call they've decided to change our unit. We requested the first floor and when we drove by a few weeks ago our apartment was in the very inside next to the dumpster. This is fine, and being close to the dumpster is 50/50 for me (smells bad walking to your car, but less of a walk to throw the trash). And not to be stereotypical because for all I know they could've been great neighbors, but there were a lot of "shady" folks hanging outside that building. Apparently our new unit is nicer. I haven't seen it's location, but when they called they said Building D, Apt D needed lots of work so they went ahead and put us in a nicer one. Honestly, that sounds fine to me.

Also, my ex found a family to sublet our current apartment, so we're moving out in the middle of April instead! Hutch and I start our new lease on April 18th. That's less than 3 weeks away! It feels so good to be moving forward. I am elated!

I'm not looking forward to packing though... Bah.

I want to paint the living/dining room and Gaia's room for sure. I think we've agreed to do something like this for the living room:
[source]
Only with greens. Yes. Green. We like green, okay?

For Gaia's room I want to paint a tree on one wall and some flowers and faeries and whatnot. Then on the opposite wall I want to paint it light blue with clouds. The head of her bed will then go on the sky wall. What do you think?

I also need to buy furniture for Gaia's room (my ex has claimed her current bedroom set), a bookshelf or two, a small entertainment table, and a table for the kitchen. This is the kitchen:

See how there's an entire wall that's empty? I am not sure why they didn't just put in more counter space, but I need to buy/build a table to put there. We have a little hutch thing that'll go between the kitchen/dining room for most of my baking pans and appliances, but I need the table to store like produce, cutting boards, etc. I don't know how to explain why I need it. I just know I will. Don't judge me.

Disney Bound!

We're headed to Disney today with my Papa Bear. He has a time share on the property. I'm excited. I'll bring my laptop to post a little about our adventures. I hope you all have a lovely week!

Pinteresting Nails

Pinterest changed their Terms of Service. Did you read the email? Good things. Good things indeed.

Follow Me on Pinterest

My nails are in bad shape. I guess I don't moisturize them enough and I had several hang nails I peeled away. They are bare now, healing from a rough day. Here are some ideas I love from Pinterest...

Paint ALL the nails!

Seems simple enough...

Dandelion nails are in my near future...

I will do this later this week when my cuticles heal.

Grateful - Week 6

I'm joining Kim at Mommie Again and posting 5 things I am grateful for for 9 weeks. Feel free to join us! Here is week 6:
  1. Honesty. Even when it sucks, I'm so happy to know that people tell me the whole truth.
  2. Sunshine. Even if it is 90 degrees, the sun rays on my face make me feel alive.
  3. Freckles. Gaia loves to connect the dots, and it's totally relaxing for me. :)
  4. Community playgrounds. We have a playground in our apartment complex that makes life easy. When we were apartment searching that's one thing I asked about. I love it.
  5. Artsy fartsy friends. Need help painting? No problem.

Humanities Day - Romantic Landscape Paintings

I sometimes wish I lived in places that looked like this. Although it's slightly hypocritical as I blog from my fancy computer in the A/C, I wish living so simply surrounded by such beauty was a natural, every day occurrence. I'd even shovel horse shit, seriously.

Right now I'm taking my third test in my humanities course. Wish me luck!

New Teeth for Gaia

This is my smiley, adorable, happy daughter. And those teeth are white because last Tuesday we finished her dentistry work. She had five cavities, one that needed immediate attention. And her front teeth were brown from where the enamel was wearing thin. I didn't mind the look before compared to how much it'd cost us (the cost of the front teeth was ridiculous because it was cosmetic dentistry). I still thought she was beautiful as long as she was happy.

I can't find a good before pictures because, like I said, it wasn't really that bad. You can't tell in pictures...

Don't ask me how she got 5 cavities and needed that mush dental work on her baby teeth, but her father's annual medical account was expiring so we decided to get it checked out. It cost nearly all of the now-expired account (which is good, cause it's a use it or lose it deal). Folks, that's $1500. And Gaia has dental as well. We're going to treat her teeth like gold from now on.

It took three visits, one for each side of her face for the cavities. These made me giggle because afterwards you have this cute smile:
Taken with my cellular device.
The pediatric dentist in our area is actually less than a 5 minute walk from our home. He's wonderful and he claims Gaia is his best patient. I admit she is eerily still and cooperative every time. And they have the cutest nautical theme for the office... there's a giant boat which is actually a children's movie theater where they play kids movies. And he has all these fancy knots in display cases. I like it.

And I love her new shiny teeth!

April Sponsor Swap

March went by faster than February. Ahhh!

I had a bunch of lovely sponsors for March. In case you're viewing this in a reader (yay!) then here they are:

Let Them Eat Cake Southern Mama with a Bad Mouth
A Lil Dash of Diva Living Loving & Photographing

They are some lovely ladies, that's for sure.

So, wanna swap for April? I'll most likely keep swapping with the ladies above, so get used to them. :) If you would like to join this list of amazing bloggers and be bloggy friends then keep reading because it's really easy and fun!

We swap buttons and place them under the "sponsors" section in our sidebars. That's it! I will also do a  sponsor spotlight on the first Sunday of each month. If you would like, you can also do one guest post or giveaway promoting your Etsy store on my blog during the month of March. I will help promote your blog on Twitter and Facebook by mentioning your posts throughout the month. Your button will remain on my blog as long as mine remains on yours.

Don't have a blog? If you would like to instead promote your Etsy shop or Facebook fan page for your crafts I would love to put your button on my sidebar. In return all that I ask is that you offer a giveaway on my blog in the month of April or have a coupon code that I can give to my readers that is valid for the entire month. Easy peasy, right?

So what do you think? Leave a comment here or email me sharylove [@] gmail.com if you're interested and I'll start getting those buttons up!
